Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Petals mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Petals is a daily couples ritual. The Service provides daily questions, dares, and a shared garden experience designed to deepen connection between partners. Petals is not therapy, counseling, or professional relationship advice.

When you first open Petals, an anonymous account is created automatically via Supabase authentication. You may optionally provide an email address for account recovery. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account.

To use partner features, you must connect with another user via an invite code. You are responsible for sharing your invite code only with your intended partner.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Harass, abuse, or harm another person through the Service
• Share content that is illegal, obscene, or infringes on the rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
• Use the Service if you are under the age of 13
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service

Petals offers a free tier and premium subscription plans. Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and processed via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

• Free trial — new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial of premium features
• Auto-renewal — subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
• Cancellation — you may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds — refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies

You retain ownership of all content you create through the Service, including question answers, dare reflections, photos, videos, and voice notes.

By using the Service, you grant Petals a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service — including sharing your answers with your connected partner.

The Petals name, logo, and all related branding, designs, questions, and dare content are the property of Petals and may not be reproduced without permission.

Petals is designed to facilitate meaningful conversations between partners. It is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, medical advice, or mental health treatment. If you are experiencing relationship distress, domestic violence, or mental health concerns, please seek help from qualified professionals.

Some questions and dares may touch on sensitive topics. You are always free to skip any question or dare that feels uncomfortable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Petals and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Delete Account within the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Petals operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
